You Tell Me: What Would You Like on Your Blog?

Remember those old Tombstone pizza commercials? Where the guy asks "What would you like on your tombstone?"

Well, now I ask you: What would you like on your blog? (And you can't say pepperoni and cheese!)

There are publishing blogs and writer blogs, aspiring author blogs and agent blogs. Where does that leave us here at Writer In Progress?

When I first created this blog, my hope was for it to be a place where writers could come to get a handle on the process of writing a novel, querying an agent, and basically share publishing tips, tricks, and resources.

I just realized I've been blogging for six months now (HOORAY!), and wanted to check in with you: What is it that you'd love to see more of on this blog?

Publishing news? Book reviews? Writing tips/tricks? Me ranting about revising my novel (hopefully this will change to "working on my new novel" soon)? Links and author resources?

You tell me :). You guys are the reason I started blogging in the first place!

I'd also like to thank you all, both my loyal readers and my new followers. Your comments and contributions are what make this blog a joy! Thank you for your input and for hanging out with me on a daily and weekly basis.

YOU ROCK!

More ranting, definitely. ;)

I always like your posts, so I don't know. Your questions are too hard! Just kidding. Sort of. :)

I can't even come up with ideas for my own blog. I'm brain dead. Lame, I know. Sorry. :D

Oh, maybe more zombies? And braaaaiiins? Braaaaaaiiiiins. I think it's time for bed...

Maybe not zombies on this blog ;)

I love your blog, its always full of your progress, your personality. At the moment can't think of anything I'd like extra on it.

As granpappy used to say 'it it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Okay, granpappy didn't use to say that, but I needed something snappy.

My blog started out as just keeping track of my progress on a WiP - how many words, what I felt while writing, and all that jazz. It somehow morphed into something else without me really trying. So, keep doing what you're doing, tweak here and there if you want, but 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Well, the problem with offering tips and tricks for writing is that there's so much out there already, it's hard to find something new to write about without going over the same old sameold.

Yanno?

I read an agent blog the other day that made a good point. It basically said it's okay for writers to cater to other writers on their blog, but they should also be trying to build a fan base of blog readers who are non writers.

That being said . . . it's up to you. :-) I'm already a regular reader.

I love you guys :). I swear this wasn't a "tell me you like my blog" thing, and I honestly expected cries of "what happened to your book reviews, you lazy sod!" and the like.

Thank you for the encouragement as well as the suggestions (i.e. zombies, and not sweating it about writers--good point, Kat!)

Definitely more zombies. ;)

Congrats! I know there must be a statistic somewhere, but aren't most blogs abandoned sometime in the first month?

You beat the odds. And you look great doing it, lol!

Haha, thanks, Tere! ;)

Really, most blogs are abandoned? Huh. I never knew that.

Well, I enjoy this blog, just for the awesome comments if nothing else! Woot!
