Learning is Fun!

Today, I came across a fascinating post on Pub Rants about the difficulties in negotiating e-rights. Check it out!

If you're anything like me, you've been wondering what the heck is going on as far as the author's concerned with the rise of e-books. How are royalties going to be paid? How do publishers decide what's fair in this Brave New World?

Everything is in a state of change, and I love learning all I can about the turning tides :). How will it all shake out??

Also, yesterday I loved the answers I got to the question "what was your favorite childhood book?" I love getting peaks at people's personalities with stuff like that.

But I have to ask... what happened to the Q&A, yo? I feel like the nerdy girl all alone at the dance, picking egg salad out of my braces and swaying sadly to Boyz II Men. Why you got to leave me hangin?

I mean, maybe it's just my dayquil/nyquil/tylenol cocktail talking here, but throw a girl a bone!

Don't worry about me, though. I'll just sit here, drinking the liquor of my own tears and asking myself questions, like "why does no one love me?" and "how much chocolate can I fit in my mouth?"

Have a great weekend, guys!

And if you'd like, please answer me this: What is the best thing you've recently read and why did you love it? :)

This blog is one of the best things I've recently read and I love it because it's witty and thoughtful.

PS, Is it wrong to sway to Boyz II Men? (she says hoping for a "no")

I didn't mean to leave you hanging on the Q&A... life just kicked my butt yesterday... it did a pretty good job today too... and by the way, I love egg salad :)

I have to cheat a little on the best thing I've read recently. This is because the best thing I've recently read is the description blurb of the movie Ink. That blurb led me to watch the movie. Now I'm in love. With the movie, with what it says with everything about it. *sigh*

It's affected everything, including my writing, in a great way. Ink. Watch it!

This post made me giggle. Coincidentally, I'm a nerdy girl with braces and I used to listen to Westlife instead of Boyz II Men. LOL.

I love Pub Rants, although I do tend to scroll through those entries that only pertain to published authors.

I recently read "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. A brilliant read, even though I knew the story. I then watched the Francis Ford Coppola film version and laughed over the appalling acting whilst simultaneously drooling over the delicious Gary Oldman!

The Book Thief is the best thing I've read recently. I'd say "best" because it has layers and layers of ideas to explore in future readings.

Question: If you could change the ending of any one book, which would it be, and how would you change it?

Oh my gosh, we suck. It's taking us forever to get caught up on blogs lately. Ok, so here's our big question (far, far too late): If you had to be besties with one movie star, who would it be? I'm watching the Oscars and I've got celebs on the brain.

this is why you are brilliant:Don't worry about me, though. I'll just sit here, drinking the liquor of my own tears and asking myself questions, like "why does no one love me?" and "how much chocolate can I fit in my mouth?

and you must read The Book Thief. AMAZING. I am reading Bird on Bird which is an interesting read for writers. And I am reading "I'm Down" by Mishna Wolff and it is quite funny.
