Deal With the Universe Contest: VOTE NOW!

And now the moment you've all been waiting for (at least since last week's post on Making a Deal With the Universe):

I've selected the best, funniest, most terrifying blog reader suggestions for YOU to vote on!

Yes, you, Gentle Readers, get to decide my fate, when/if I get a book deal. I have to pay the Universe back somehow, right, and I might as well pay in tears.

You will also decide which of these four* lucky commenters will win a copy of Jessica Verday's THE HOLLOW :)!

Now, without further ado, here are your finalists:

Scott suggested posting the worst picture of me ever taken! (And trust me, I've got some doosies. My childhood was... awkward.)

Lisa & Laura suggested that I spend the entire day as a character from a book (i.e. Frodo), and document it with pictures for all to enjoy. (I promise not to cheat and be someone boring!)

CHKB suggested that I eat something revolting on video for all to enjoy. (I'm thinking haggis sounds like the worst thing ever, but please feel free to make suggestions!)

Shannon Messenger suggested karaokeing to "My Humps" and, of course, videotaping it. (You managed to find a song even more embarrasingly wrong than "Bootylicious! :) Well played!)

Please vote for one of these clever folks in the comments! Voting will be closed by Sunday night, and then a winner announced Monday :).

(*Okay, I know I originally said I'd pick three to vote on, but there were just so many awesome ones. I couldn't decide. So, I cheated. Hey, it's my contest. Back off, already!)

Definitely the singing!

Personally, I'm dancing around STL in a pair of parachute pants. Maybe we could collaborate. I'll dance you sing.

Bleh. I'd never be mean enough to suggest haggis.

After reading Cole's blog yesterday and her comment today, I think you should make it a collaborative effort.

I vote singing.

LOL, my childhood was ... awkward, too. So I think that's the bravest one.

I vote Scott, and the seventh grade class photo!

I vote for Lisa and Laura's suggestion. I'm dying just thinking of the possibilities!

Lisa and Laura said...

I'm voting for myself. As if you're even remotely surprised. Although that whole My Humps thing comes in a close second...

Scott said...

Hey, if Lisa and Laura can vote for themselves . . . I'm voting for my suggestion. : )

Oh, and Tere, thanks for bringing up the traumatic childhood school photo memories. I have plenty of those, including the picture the year my mother decided to find the ugliest fabric possible and make me a shirt to wear the day of the school photo. Luckily, Mom gave up sewing clothes pretty quickly. : )

Uh oh, I'm beginning to see a scary pattern here w/ the singing!

Scott--don't feel too bad! I literally have a school picture of myself in bloomers :(. My mom made them for me to wear under my dress. *sigh* So many special pics to choose from.

Okay, obviously math is not my strong point. We have a three way tie going right now between Scott, LiLa, and Shannon!

Can't wait to see how this all shakes out :).

Abby Annis said...

I vote for LiLa. But then I think you should have a vote to pick with character. >:)

Abby Annis said...

Okay, that should be "which", not "with". Time for bed.

I'm gonna go with Lisa and Laura's idea. That's kewl.

Snazel said...

I say do the character idea. :D

Shelli said...

Id vote for lisa and lauras if we can pic a character for you to be. Your own cant be that bad.

If not - i got for eating - a fear factor kind of thing. Like a grasshopper or something. :0

Rebecca Knight said...

Uh oh, LiLa is pulling ahead!

And good point, Shelli--I will acquiesce to your demands and let you guys pick the character I have to be for a day if LiLa wins :)!

Who said I'm not a good sport? ;)

Sing Being Alive from Company! Post it on YouTube! I will link it up if you do!

PS: Thanks for reading my branding article on Lisa and Laura's blog and I am so glad you liked it!
