After my vacation, then a week of in-laws visiting and house cleaning, I was chomping at the bit to get back into my manuscript.
The funny thing was, before I left I was getting really sick of looking at it because of all the time we'd been spending together. Maybe distance really does make the heart grow fonder? After some curing time, getting back into the swing of things felt GREAT.
Last night, Legacy of the Empress and I spent some nice quality time together. I edited and edited and edited, until at 10:30, my husband finally told me to knock it off and relax.
But I was relaxed :). I love feeling like I'm getting stuff done, and I feel SO CLOSE to getting back out there and querying.
However, I've learned from the past and this time I'm not going to rush it. I'm going to go over it after my "final edits" once or twice more in its entirety (along with my dear, live-in beta reader) and make sure that it's as perfect as it can possibly be.
The break from the manuscript seemed to be just what I needed to get my head back in the game :). Yay!
How are your weeks going so far? Any progress? Anything you need some cheerleading on?
Let us know!

Oh, I totally agree that with manuscripts distance makes the heart grow fonder. I also totally applaud you not wanting to rush things - it is so hard to keep from sending the queries out prematurely.
Anyway, good luck with those final edits!
Yay for editing going well! So, when would you like to start entering queryland? Sounds as if we could be querying at similar times (I'm hoping by the end of this year).
Kate--thanks so much :D. I already hurried once, so I'm learning. Yay!
Yuna--I hope to be ready to roll by the end of Sept--sooner if possible. Fingers crossed for you, too! That would be cool to be Query Buddies busting it out at the same time :D.
End Sept? Wow! VArious reasons that won't happen for me, but maybe Oct/Nov. Definitely be there as a query buddy. Fancy a guest appearance on my blog sometime?
Yea, Becca! So cool to feel close, huh? That's where I am too. Close. Didn't get anything done on my WIP this week, but I think ignoring the one that's close for a few weeks helped me fix my opening. Or at least it's closer. :)
Glad your editing's going well. Keep it up! :D
Are we living a similar life? I spent time away from writing last week as well and was all revved up to revise last night. Sometimes, I think we need time away (check out my blog tomorrow) from writing.

The distance is so important, isn't it. I've been working on my WiP. And now I need to switch gears a little - but more on that later. Great progress!
Yuna--Love to :D. Email me any time!
Abby--thanks for the support, dude :). Time away worked wonders for me, so here's hoping for a kick-ass week for you when you start again!
Scott--*twilight zone music* Why yes. We ARE living the same life! O_o.
Christine--you are a writing demon, from what you've been reporting on Twitter :D. Great progress to you, too!
That's awesome you've felt so compelled to write this week. I agree, absence helps a lot.
I'm probably a year off from the query stage. Maybe more! I'm trying not to think about it.
