Hooray for word of mouth!

This is fascinating about people's takes on the first paragraph finalists. Kind of makes you feel better about the agenting process doesn't it? If we're turned down somewhere, you know there is someone else who will love your writing to pieces :).Rebecca Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15214077952378770753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1341936379982803463.post-1334595430682655602009-10-20T10:28:52.350-07:002009-10-20T10:28:52.350-07:00After farting a rainbow?! Fictional books, not insturctional books. I love when the main character is a writer and the author explores the everyday experience.

I love when an author takes a general idea (greek gods) and updates it (living in a cramped townhome in NYC, their powers fading, and Aprhodite doing phone . . .) brilliantly - gods behaving badly by marie phillips.

As for starts . . . it all depends on the book and my patience level. I've read a few really brilliant books that started out so slowly it was agonizing. Root canals are more fun then the openings of those books . . . and yet they are some of my favorite books of all time.

So, as long as the cover + title + interesting premise catches my eye, then I'm pretty happy.

I'm off to check out your brilliance.

SScotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06905515473737579937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1341936379982803463.post-23715874312810890462009-10-19T19:47:24.115-07:002009-10-19T19:47:24.115-07:00Woohoo!
